One Week
It's All Been Done
If I Had $1000000
The Old Apartment
Alcohol
The Old Apartment

One Week

It's been one week since you looked at me
Cocked your head to the side and said I'm angry
Five days since you laughed at me saying
get that together come back and see me
Three days since the living room,
I realized it's all my fault, but couldn't tell you
Yesterday you'd forgiven me,
but it'll still be two days till I say I'm sorry

Hold it now and watch the hoodwink
As I make you stop, think
You'll think you're looking at Aquaman
I summon fish to the dish, although I like the Chalet Swiss
And I like sushi cause it's never toughed a frying pan

Hot like wasabe when I bust rhymes
Big like Leanne Rimes
Because I'm all about value
Bert Kampfert's got the mad hits
You try to match wits, You try to hold me but I bust through
Gonna make a break and take a fake
I'd like a stinkin achin shake
I like vanilla, it's the finest of the flavours
Gotta see the show, cause then you'll know
The vertigo is gonna grow
Cause it's dangerous, you'll have to sign a waiver

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kinda guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what I mean? Well, you soon will
I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of takin off my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Threw your arms in the air and said You're crazy
Five days since you tackled me
I've still got the rug burns on both my knees

It's been three days since the afternoon
You realized it's not my fault not a moment too soon
Yesterday you'd forgiven me
And now I sit back and wait till you say you're sorry

Chickety China that Chinese chicken
You have a drumstick and your brain stops tickin'
Watchin X-files with no lights on,
we're dans la maison
I hope the smoking man's in this one

Like Harrison Ford I'm gettin frantic
Like Sting I'm tantric
Like Snickers, guaranteed to satisfy
Like Kurasawa I make mad films
Ok I don't make films
But if I did they'd have a samauri

Gonna get a better set of clubs
Gonna find the kind with tiny nubs
just so my iron's aren't always flyin off the back-swing
gotta get in tune with Sailor Moon
Cause the cartoon has got the boom anime babes
that make me think the wrong thing

How can I help it if I think you're funny when you're mad
Tryin not to smile though I feel bad
I'm the kinda guy who laughs at a funeral
Can't understand what mean? Well, You soon will

I have a tendency to wear my mind on my sleeve
I have a history of takin off my shirt

It's been one week since you looked at me
Dropped your arms to your sides and said I'm sorry
Five days since I laughed at you and said
You just did just what I thought you were gonna do
Three days since the living room
We realized we're both to blame, but what could we do?
Yesterday you just smiled at me
Cause it'll still be two days till we say we're sorry

It's All Been Done

I met you, before the fall of Rome
and I bet you to let me take you home.
You were wrong, I was right.
You said good-bye, I said good night
It's all been done, It's all been done, It's all been done before.

I knew you before the west was won.
I heard you say, "the past was much more fun."
You go your way, I'll go mine but I'll see you next time.

Chorus:
It's all been done, It's all been done. It's all been done before.

If I put my fingers here and If I say I love you dear
and if I play the same the three chords will you just yawn
and say, " Ah, I hate it. "

(Chorus )

Alone and bored on a thirtieth century night.
Will I see you on the Price is Right?
Will I cry, will I smile?
As you run, down the aisle.

It's all been done. It's all been done. It's all been done before.
It's all been done. It's all been done. It's all been done.
It's all been done. It's all been done. It's all been done before.

If I Had $1000000

If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you a house (I would buy you a house)
If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you furniture for your house (Maybe a nice chesterfield or an ottoman)
If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you a K-Car (a nice Reliant automobile)
If I had $1000000 I'd buy your love.

If I had $1000000
I'd build a tree fort in our yard
If I had $1000000
You could help, it wouldn't be that hard
If I had $1000000
Maybe we could put a refrigerator in there
Wouldn't that be fabulous.

If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you a fur coat (but not a real fur coat that's cruel)
If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you an exotic pet (Like a llama or an emu)
If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you John Merrick's remains (All them crazy elephant bones)
If I had $1000000 I'd buy your love.

If I had $1000000
We wouldn't have to walk to the store
If I had $1000000
We'd take a limousine 'cause it costs more
If I had $1000000
We wouldn't have to eat Kraft Dinner.
But we would. We'd actually make the treefort from the first chorus out of it.
Mmm.

If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you a green dress (but not a real green dress, that's cruel)
If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you some art (a Picasso or a Garfunkel)
If I had $1000000 (If I had $1000000)
I'd buy you a monkey (haven't you always wanted a monkey?)
If I had $1000000 I'd buy your love.

If I had $1000000, If I had $1000000,
If I had $1000000, If I had $1000000
I'd be rich.

The Old Apartment

Broke into the old apartment
this is where we used to live
broken glass, broke and hungry
broken hearts and broken bones
this is where we used to live
why did you paint the walls?
why did you clean the floor?
Why did you plaster over
the hole i punched in the door?
this is where we used to live
why did you keep up the mousetrap?
why did you keep the dishrack?
These things used to be mine
i guess they still are,
i want 'em back
broke into the old apartment
forty-two stairs from the street
crooked landing, crooked landlord
narrow landway filled with crooks
this is where we used to live
Why did they pave the lawn?
Why did they change the locks?
Why did i have to break it?
i only came here to talk
this is where we used to live
how is the neighbor downstairs?
how is her temper this year?
i turned up your TV
and stomped on the floor just for fun
i know we don't live here anymore
we bought an old house on the danforth
she loves me and her body keeps me warm
and i'm happy here
but this is where we used to live
broke into the old apartment
tore the phone out of the wall
only memories, fading memories
blending into dull tableaux
i want them back

Alcohol

Alcohol, my permanent accessory
Alcohol, a party time necessity
Alcohol, alternative to feeling like yourself
O Alcohol, I still drink to your health.

Refrain:
I love you more than I did the week before I discovered alcohol.

Forget the café lattés, screw the raspberry iced tea
A Malibu and Coke for you, a g&t for me
Alcohol, your songs resolve like my life never will
When someone else is picking up the bill

(Refrain)

O Alcohol, would you please forgive me,
But while I cannot love myself
I'll use something else

I thought that alcohol was just for those with nothing else to do
I thought that drinking just to get drunk was a waste of precious booze
But now I know that there's a time and there's a place where I can choose
To walk the fine line between self control and self abuse

(Go, go, go, go, go, etc)

(Refrain)

Would you please ignore that you found me on the floor drying out your
canvesol

O Alcohol, would you please forgive me,
But while I cannot love myself
I'll use something else

Would you please forgive me?
